Earthworms

Kia ora,

We have been learning about earthworms with Mrs Fletcher, we found some worms and put them in a plastic container, then we used a magnifying glass to count the segments on their body.

We needed to write complex sentences about worms.

1.  Worms like the dark better than the light.
2. Earthworms like the dark better than the light because the are safe underground.
3. Earthworms like the dark better than the light because the are safe underground and the birds will not get them.

I found it hard to find the facts. I found it easy to learn how many segments were on the worms.

Kandinsky Art

Kia ora,

Last week, we learnt about Kandinsky art. I chose a turtle because my grandmother got it for me when I turned six. I cut the turtle out of black paper. The learning behind this task was to know what are cold and what are hot colours. I enjoyed colouring in the background. What I found hard was making the turtle.

A Snapper is a life form because...

We have learned what a fishbone diagram is and how to use a completed one to make our own using a life form of our choice. We had to organise the fact boxes by using MRS GREN which is an acronym which reminds you about what life forms do. Here is mine. I chose to write about a snapper. What I liked about this task was learning what snapper did. What was easy?  I found that finding the facts was easy.

The Living World Multiple Intelligences study

Hello, This is my living world slideshow. For the next 5 or 6 weeks we will be choosing our own activities to learn about the living world. We did a multiple intelligences test to see what kind of learner we were. My top three ways of learning intelligences are;
 1.Logical 2.Naturalist 3.Visual
I am looking forward to doing more challenges.
