Reading

Here is a Screencastify of me reading a poem. We need to read clearly, with good pace, fluency and expression.

In reading I am good at doing the right expression.

I need to work on getting the words right.

I like reading because it helps your brain.

Here are the questions i answered about the poem. We need to answer in full sentences

Telling the time

This week we have been learning to tell the time.
I know how to tell the time in o'clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past.

I am working on 5 minute and 1 minute intervals.

Pirate Coding

 We have been learning how to code. I have made my own Pirate code and a Christmas code. My Christmas code is a bit different, if you touch the red things you will have to restart but you have to try and get to the reindeer, then go to the sleigh.

Summer and Christmas Poems

We have been writing poems about Summer and Christmas. We needed

 to write an acrostic poem. Here is my acrostic poem.

Vaseline Saucers

Two weeks ago we made Vaseline Saucers for Pet Day. The Vaseline Saucers had to be Symmetrical. Symmetry means to be the same on each side. I like the patterns I did because 

it reflected on each side. I used petals, leaves and pods to make it. 

I did well on making the patterns and making it Symmetrical.

Christmas Tree

We sketched a Christmas tree, then we put some words on it about how we felt when 

we saw the Christmas tree. We then made a poem about

 Christmas on our Chromebooks.

This term we have completed two pieces of art.

One was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work. We looked at the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings.

Our second piece was using the Maori words we have learnt and using these to create a visual picture. The words become the shape of the picture.

Some things I did well were the Maori words and the black and white of the buildings.

Some things I could improve on is the warm colours and the circles.
