X's Tables

Kia ora,
This weekend I have been doing
my x's tables on a presentation.

I found that making the slide was easy.
I found writing my x's tables was hard.
I found the way they added interesting.
I learnt was that the way they
add they go in 1, 2, 3 and 4s.
The learning behind the this was
because u need to know your x's tables.

Making Fake Whitebait Fritters

Kia ora,

This term for our novel study, Mrs A read us Whitebait Fritters which is a novel written by a Kiwi author Kingi McKinnon.  My favourite part in Whitebait Fritters was when they fall off the boat.To wind up our learning we decided to make some fake whitebait fritters because we can’t afford to buy real whitebait. We used grated potato to take the place of whitebait and mixed it with eggs and onions. They were really delicious. Then we had to write out the recipe, put it on a Google Drawing and add some images. You can see my work below.

Maths 1: Geometry Safari

Kia ora, This term for maths we have been learning about 2D and 3D geometry.  Cruz, Max and I were in a team. We went on a Geometry Safari around the school grounds to see how many 2D and 3D shapes we could find. Then we had to write what we had found into a table. You can see ours below.

Science 1: Me and my DNA.

Kia ora, This term for science we are learning all about how the human body works and how special we all are. We are also trying to learn how to think and act more like a scientist. So, Miss Fletcher asked us to look at our faces in the mirror and write down notes about what we look like. The information had to be precise and clear so that when someone read it, it would help them find the person it described quickly. It was a bit like being a detective. You had to look and notice things carefully. Miss Fletcher said that what we look like depends on our mother and father. Making a new human is a bit like making a cake.  You get some ingredients from your mum and some from your dad. The ingredients are called DNA. Everybody’s cake is different to everyone else’s. Miss Fletcher said the person with the most efficient description was Andrew J as he wrote: My hair is 1cm long all over. He is the only student in Team Moana with a haircut like that so he was able to be identified very easily. You can read my description below. The sentences highlighted in blue are the ones that Miss Fletcher said were not precise and clear enough. Twentynine people said they could recognise me from my description.

Mrs Gren Whitebait

Kia ora,
From week 3 to week 7 we were reading a book called Whitebait Fritters.
We had to do 6 activities on this.
I found finding the facts easy.
I found making sense hard.
The learning behind the task was learning about whitebait and all the things to be in Mrs Gren.

Show not tell hero

Kia ora,
Today I am posting this 'Who am I?' about a superhero.
This week and 2 weeks to come we are doing everything
about a super heros in our community.
I found describing it easy. I found making it hard.
The learning behind the task was about writing and
learning about our community heroes.

Here is my who am I:

Heros comics

This week we are making and learning about our community and heroes.
I enjoyed that this was an independent task. I don't enjoy that we had to do it twice. The learning behind the task was about writing and learning about our heros.
